Dense Fog Complicates Ukrainian Defense as Russians Advance in Pokrovsk
Dense fog disrupted Ukrainian aerial reconnaissance in Pokrovsk, hindering defense efforts as limited visibility gave Russian forces room to advance.
Thick fog has sharply complicated the Ukrainian military’s efforts to maintain control over Pokrovsk, according to servicemen from the seventh rapid-reaction corps of Ukraine’s Air Assault Forces.
They reported that severely limited visibility disrupted aerial reconnaissance, making it far harder to monitor the situation on the ground. The soldiers said the defensive operation in Pokrovsk had become significantly more difficult as dense fog lingered over the city throughout the previous day, hindering the work of Ukrainian units.
In their assessment, such conditions give Russian forces an advantage, allowing them to push deeper into the city and prepare new offensive actions with greater freedom of movement.
Earlier, Russia’s Ministry of Defense stated that Russian assault units had entered the settlement of Grishino, located a few kilometers northwest of Pokrovsk.
