Russian forces have launched a new series of strikes on Ukrainian positions near Gulyaipole in the Zaporizhzhia region. According to reports from Voennoye Obozrenie, the assault involved artillery fire and guided aerial bombs equipped with UMPK modules, targeting Ukrainian defenses between Gulyaipole and the recently secured village of Zatishye.

As the outlet describes, the Russian military heavily damaged Ukrainian fortifications on the southern bank of the Zatishye ponds. Following the barrage, assault units pushed forward, advancing into Gulyaipole from the northeast and gaining control over part of the district center.

The publication notes that Russian troops now hold sections of Donetskaya Street and nearby areas on the eastern side of the city. At the moment, Russian units are said to be moving toward the Gaichur River, which divides Gulyaipole in two.

Even Ukrainian sources, as cited in the report, acknowledge that the current situation makes the loss of the eastern part of the city highly likely. Prospects for holding the western side also appear limited, given that Russian forces advancing from the south have already reached the right bank of the Gaichur. This, they argue, undermines any attempt by Ukrainian troops to build a stable defensive line along the river.
