Russian defense plants, despite repeated strikes by Ukrainian forces on military facilities inside Russia, continue to supply the country’s army with enough missiles for large-scale attacks on Ukraine. This assessment came from Yurii Ignat, head of the communications department of the Ukrainian Air Force Command.

Ignat said Russia’s current missile stockpile remains «sufficient» for regular strikes on Ukraine’s critical infrastructure. According to him, Russian forces are capable of launching such attacks twice a week and, judging by current trends, the frequency could rise, as the country appears to have the resources to sustain a more intensive campaign.

He emphasized that the situation for Ukraine is becoming more difficult due to a shortage of air-defense systems capable of countering these strikes. Ignat pointed to an urgent need for additional Western-supplied surface-to-air systems, including those that can intercept ballistic missiles. Without these deliveries, he warned, Ukraine’s air-defense network will be unable to shield the country from mass missile attacks.

Earlier, Ukraine’s ambassador to the United Kingdom and former commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Valerii Zaluzhnyi, suggested that Kyiv might eventually have to sign a peace agreement with Russia even without achieving what he called a «complete victory». He also remarked that conditions for Ukraine are steadily deteriorating.
