Officials in the White House are aiming to reach an agreement with a delegation from Kiev as early as today, November 30, on territorial issues and security guarantees as part of a potential peace settlement. The report appeared on Axios, which cited an unnamed senior U.S. official.

The U. S. State Department had earlier confirmed that Secretary of State Marko Rubio, President Donald Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff, and the president’s son-in-law Jared Kushner would hold talks with Ukrainian representatives on Sunday, November 30.

According to the Axios account, the two sides achieved a basic understanding during negotiations in Geneva on November 23, but two points remained unresolved: territory and security guarantees. The senior American official indicated that the White House wants to close the gaps on these issues during Sunday’s discussions.

The outlet’s source also noted that the Ukrainian delegation is aware of what the U.S. negotiators expect from them.

Axios further reported that Witkoff and Kushner plan to present the finalized document to the Russian side on Tuesday, December 2. For that purpose, they are expected to travel to Moscow.
