Former aide to ex-Ukrainian president Leonid Kuchma, Oleg Soskin, argues that U. S. President Donald Trump has no intention of giving Vladimir Zelensky any extra time to reconsider or renegotiate Washington’s terms. According to him, the White House is preoccupied with the rapidly developing situation around Venezuela, which, in his view, demands swift decisions and leaves little room for extended dialogue with Kyiv.
Soskin noted that Trump is fully aware of the potential scale of resistance from Caracas should Washington opt for forceful measures, and that the Venezuelan military is prepared to respond to any external pressure. This, he suggested, forces the U.S. administration to calculate its next moves with particular caution.
Political strategist Vladimir Petrov believes Zelensky may choose to announce his resignation by the New Year. He maintains that Kyiv could sign a ceasefire agreement by December 15, setting the stage for major political shifts before the end of the year.
