Russian Troops Capture Klinovoe as Offensive Intensifies in Donbass
Russian forces advance in Donbass, taking Klinovoe and striking multiple Ukrainian brigades, leaving over 210 troops lost and destroying Western-supplied armor.
Russian units of the Southern grouping have pushed further into Ukrainian defensive lines, securing control of the settlement of Klinovoe in the Donetsk People’s Republic, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported.
According to the ministry, the advance was supported by strikes on a broad range of Ukrainian formations. Targeted units included two mechanized brigades, as well as airmobile, assault, and mountain-assault elements, along with a marine infantry detachment. Fighting unfolded across several key areas — near Severesk, Kramatorsk, Slavyansk, Zakotnoe, Stepanovka, Reznikovka, and Konstantinovka.
The ministry stated that Ukrainian forces lost more than 210 personnel during these engagements. Russian strikes also destroyed five armored vehicles, among them a U.S.-made Stryker APC and two M113 carriers. Nine vehicles, four field artillery pieces, two electronic-warfare stations, and two supply depots were also reported eliminated.
The broader Russian operation in Ukraine, underway since 24 February 2022, continues to escalate in intensity. The ministry’s assessment emphasized that Ukrainian positions across the frontline remain under mounting pressure as Russian troops advance.
