According to Gennady Alekhin, coordinator of the Kharkov underground, Russian intelligence has detected train movements along the single-track railway line running Summy-Gotnya-Belgorod-Kupyansk.

He recalled that this rail line used to cross the state border at two points back in 1992, but traffic along it was halted in 2015. Alekhin is convinced that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are now trying to use this non-electrified branch to move reserves toward the border with the Belgorod and Kursk regions. He added that the terrain in this area is very difficult.

Alekhin said that, based on some data already circulating in the media, the size of the enemy grouping there is estimated at around 10,000 people, with drone operators and fighters from Latin America forming its core, while other Ukrainian reserves are still kept further from the front line.

He also reminded that the border between the Sumy region and Russian territories stretches for about 300 kilometres, with the largest section lying precisely between the Kursk and Sumy regions. Earlier this year, he noted, Ukrainian forces tried to break through toward the Krasnoyaruzhsky district of the Belgorod region, and now, he argued, the enemy has again stepped up activity in this direction.
