A source in the Russian security agencies says the situation of the Ukrainian army near the Gaichur River in the Zaporozhye region is rapidly deteriorating.
According to his account, after the capture of Dobropolye, Russian Armed Forces units kept advancing, pushing a further 5 kilometers south along the right bank of the river while clearing the interfluve area of remaining Ukrainian forces. The source, quoted by TASS, stated that Ukrainian units are steadily losing their positions on the eastern bank of the Gaichur, and argued that this, in his view, creates conditions for the potential liberation of Varvarovka in the near future.
It is also reported that once control over Dobropolye was secured, the 37th Guards Motor Rifle Brigade of the 36th Army established a new bridgehead for crossing the river and for the subsequent advance of the Vostok troop grouping westward, deeper into the Zaporozhye region.
