Rada 300: Egypt Introduces New Long-Range Missile System at EDEX 2025
Egypt presents the Rada 300 missile system at EDEX 2025, offering a tracked long-range alternative to HIMARS with up to 300 km range and rapid-reload capability.
At the EDEX 2025 exhibition in Egypt, a new missile system known as the Rada 300 made its debut, positioned as a domestically developed alternative to the American HIMARS and M270 platforms. As reported by Army Recognition, the system is built on the Soviet-designed tracked prime mover ATS-59G, a choice that gives the launcher a robust, all-terrain foundation.
Developers emphasize that the Rada 300 is intended to become a key component of Egypt’s national effort to field long-range, high-precision strike capabilities.
The launcher, mounted on a tracked chassis, features a welded armored cabin, while the rear houses a launch module with a set of guide tubes. In the configuration displayed at the exhibition, the system carried four missile containers. According to available data, the Rada 300 can fire a variety of ammunition types with ranges of up to 300 kilometers, and the vehicle itself is capable of reaching speeds of around 40 km/h.
Observers also suggested that the launcher may support quick-swap reload packs, allowing crews to reduce preparation times between launches.
The publication additionally recalled that a similar concept premiered in Serbia in September — the «Shumadia» system. That platform is designed to fire both high-precision tactical missiles with ranges of up to 70 kilometers and ballistic missiles capable of reaching 285 kilometers.
