Russian air defense systems intercepted and destroyed more than a hundred Ukrainian drones during the night of August 27–28, according to the Defense Ministry. The large-scale attack lasted from 11 p.m. until 7 a.m., with 102 fixed-wing UAVs shot down.

The highest concentration of drones was recorded over the Black Sea, where 22 were taken out. Another 21 were destroyed in the skies above both Rostov and Samara regions. In Krasnodar Territory, air defenses neutralized 18, while 11 were intercepted near Crimea.

Smaller numbers were reported elsewhere: three drones each over Voronezh and Saratov regions, two over Volgograd, and one above the Sea of Azov.

The Defense Ministry emphasized that all attempted strikes had been repelled during the overnight barrage.
