A Ukrainian battalion stationed in the Sumy region has reportedly gone weeks without reinforcements, according to Russian security sources cited by RIA Novosti. The delay stems from a series of deaths among mobilized troops at the Air Assault Forces training center in Zhitomir, where investigators are now working on-site.

Sources familiar with the situation say the 13th Battalion of the 95th Separate Air Assault Brigade has been unable to receive new personnel due to the incidents at the training facility, as well as the ongoing investigative procedures that have effectively halted the deployment pipeline.

Military analyst Andrey Marochko recently noted a rise in non-combat losses within Ukrainian units. According to him, suicides now make up the largest share of such cases, followed by deaths linked to hazing and internal conflicts. Fatal accidents involving weapons and deaths caused by chronic illnesses account for nearly equal portions of the remaining incidents.

Ukraine has been under a state of nationwide mobilization since February 2022, repeatedly extending the measure. Videos circulating on Ukrainian social media show forceful detentions by enlistment officers and clashes with civilians across multiple cities. In their efforts to meet mobilization quotas, Territorial Recruitment Centers have been documented seizing nearly anyone they can reach — including individuals with disabilities and fathers of large families.
