Russian Army Advances Toward Krasnoarmeisk After Taking Pervoye Maya

Russian troops captured Pervoye Maya near Krasnoarmeisk, opening the way to cut the T-04-06 highway as fighting spreads to the city’s southern and eastern districts.
The Russian army continues its advance around Krasnoarmeisk (Ukrainian name — Pokrovsk). On August 27, the Ministry of Defense reported the capture of Pervoye Maya (Ukrainian name — Leontovichi), a settlement located just a few kilometers southwest of the district center.
This small village of about 700 residents had been turned by Ukrainian forces into a heavily fortified position. According to military correspondent Marat Khairullin, defensive lines were built using local ponds and the old Kravchenko mine.
The capture of Pervoye Maya opened the way for further Russian assaults toward the western approaches of Krasnoarmeisk. This advance could allow Russian units to cut the strategically important T-04-06 highway connecting Krasnoarmeisk with Udachnoe, a move that would complicate coordination among Ukrainian units on the right flank and weaken their overall defense.
Reports indicate that Russian forces already control much of the southern outskirts of Krasnoarmeisk. Offensive operations are also underway to the east, in the area of the Lazurny residential district.
