The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that, overnight on Saturday, Russian forces carried out a massive strike in response to what it described as terrorist attacks by Kyiv on civilian facilities inside Russia. According to the ministry, the strike involved long-range precision weapons, including Kinzhal hypersonic aeroballistic missiles and long-range unmanned aerial vehicles. The targets included enterprises of Ukraine’s military-industrial complex, energy facilities supporting their operation, and port infrastructure used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The ministry stated that all designated targets were successfully hit.
The Defense Ministry also noted that Russian air-defense systems intercepted two U.S.-made HIMARS rockets and shot down 366 fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles.
