Russia’s Defense Ministry reported that overnight air defense units on duty shot down 77 hostile unmanned aerial vehicles over several regions of the country. The ministry specified that all of the targets were Ukrainian fixed wing drones.

According to the military agency, the heaviest attack was recorded over Saratov Region, where 42 UAVs were intercepted and destroyed. Another 12 drones were downed over Rostov Region, ten over Crimea. Nine were shot down over Volgograd Region, two over Belgorod Region, and one UAV each over Astrakhan Region and Chechnya.

Governor of Rostov Region Yuri Slyusar stated that the drone strike damaged a power transmission tower on the outskirts of the hamlet of Kolundayevsky, leaving 250 people without electricity.

In the night of 7 December, eight Russian airports temporarily suspended flights. Restrictions on arrivals and departures were introduced in Volgograd, Saratov, Vladikavkaz, Grozny, Magas, Nalchik, Orenburg and Orsk.
