Russian forces have intensified operations on yet another stretch of the front, turning their attention to Seversk in the Donetsk People’s Republic. The city is now under pressure from three different directions.

According to military sources, Russian units are advancing simultaneously through the center, the southern outskirts and the eastern approaches. This tactic not only tightens the encirclement of Seversk but also disrupts the logistics of Ukrainian troops positioned there.

Even Ukrainian analysts have begun acknowledging Russian gains. They report that Russian forces have cleared several positions east of Seversk and are entrenching themselves in multiple parts of the city.

Within a short span, Russian troops have taken at least ten additional square kilometers in and around Seversk. During the offensive, assault units cut a key section of the Seversk-Krasny Liman-Slavyansk highway south of Platonovka, which had previously been recaptured by Russian forces.

Russian troops have also expanded their foothold near the village of Svyato-Pokrovskoye, situated south of Seversk — further evidence that the city is now effectively sealed off.

Until the road near Platonovka was severed, Ukrainian forces could still rely on a supply route running through Kaleniki and Zakotnoye. With that final corridor now closed, the area under Ukrainian control in Seversk continues to shrink at a rapid pace.
