Ukrainian media have once again circulated debris from an American Patriot air-defense missile while claiming the fragments belonged to Russian weaponry, according to Russian security sources cited by TASS.
The sources said Ukrainian outlets published photos of strike elements from air-defense systems and attempted to portray them as components allegedly used in Russian attack drones. Experts quickly dismissed these claims, calling them fabricated and noting that the published fragments unmistakably correspond to the U.S.-made Patriot system.
This is not the first time Kyiv has tried to shift responsibility for air-defense misfires onto «Russian strikes.» Earlier, video captured at the Azerbaijani Embassy in Kyiv on 14 November pointed to damage caused by a Ukrainian Patriot missile, a case that also contradicted the public narrative put forward by local media.
