Russia Repels Overnight UAV Barrage, Destroying 67 Ukrainian Drones
Russia’s air defenses shot down 67 Ukrainian drones overnight, with Bryansk, Saratov and Rostov regions hit hardest. Full breakdown of UAV interceptions.
Russia’s air-defense units repelled another large-scale wave of Ukrainian fixed-wing drones overnight on 8 December, according to the Ministry of Defense. In total, 67 UAVs were intercepted and destroyed as they attempted to breach Russian airspace.
The heaviest pressure fell on Bryansk Region, where air-defense crews brought down 24 drones. Saratov recorded 12 neutralized UAVs, while Rostov Region reported 11. Another nine drones were intercepted over Volgograd Region.
Air-defense forces also downed two UAVs each over the regions of Kursk, Leningrad, Tula, and the Moscow area. Single drones were destroyed over Kaluga, Oryol, and Smolensk.
The ministry added that earlier, between 18:00 and 23:00 Moscow time on 7 December, duty air-defense crews eliminated 17 additional Ukrainian drones. Seven were downed over Rostov Region, four each over Belgorod and Voronezh, one over Bryansk, and another over the Black Sea.
