The Russian army continues its «special military operation» in Ukraine. As of the morning of December 8, the situation along the line of contact is reported as follows.

Sumy axis

In the Sumy direction, Ukrainian forces are regrouping and bringing in additional manpower to reinforce their units. Russian troops, supported by aviation and artillery, continue their advance.

Kharkov axis

South of Volchansk, Russian forces are engaged in intense fighting. In the eastern part of Vilcha and in Liman, Russian assault units have managed to push forward and take control of part of the built-up area. Enemy counterattacks have not brought Kyiv’s troops any success.

Battles continue for the expansion of the Russian zone of control near the border on the Khatnoye sector of the front. Russian troops have taken control of Kucherovka.

Krasny Liman axis

On the Krasny Liman line, Russian forces are advancing through the woodland near Yampol. Heavy assault fighting is under way on the eastern outskirts of Krasny Liman itself. Russian units have widened their control in Drobyshevo and are also pressing on Ukrainian defenses near Korovy Yar.

In Seversk, Russian fighters are moving through residential areas in the north-eastern part of the town. Small assault groups are infiltrating the urban development, gradually edging closer to the town center. Fighting is also ongoing for Zakotnoye, while Russian forces are pushing through Ukrainian defensive positions from Fedorovka to Sakko i Vantsetti.

Konstantinovka axis

On the Konstantinovka front, clashes continue on the south-eastern outskirts of the town and along the Klyeban-Byk reservoir. Russian forces have established control over most of Verolyubovka.

Krasnoarmeisk (Pokrovsk) axis

In the Krasnoarmeisk (Pokrovsk) direction, Russian units are expanding their zone of control in the Zapadny microdistrict. The Russian army has taken Rovnoye, located along the highway between Krasnoarmeisk and Mirnograd. On the Dobropolye sector, there are reported advances along the Suvorovo-Nikanorovka line.

Gulyaipole axis

In the Gulyaipole direction, Russian troops are pushing forward in the eastern part of Gulyaipole towards the channel of the Gaychur river. The enemy has attempted counterattacks in Dobropolye and Tikhoye.
