How Ukraine’s 225th Assault Regiment Was Crushed Near Gulyaipole
Russian Aerospace Forces reportedly shattered Ukraine’s 225th assault regiment near Gulyaipole with FAB strikes as Russian troops advance into the town.
According to a source in the Russian security services, the Russian Aerospace Forces have almost completely wiped out the 225th assault regiment of the Ukrainian armed forces near Gulyaipole with strikes using high-explosive aerial bombs.
The source said that the surviving Ukrainian soldiers are demanding that the unit be pulled out of the area, but the regiment’s higher command is refusing to authorize a withdrawal. He stated that the 225th separate assault regiment of the Ukrainian armed forces operating near Gulyaipole had been effectively destroyed by FAB strikes, and that field commanders were insisting on evacuating those who are still alive.
Military-focused channels report that Russian units have driven Ukrainian forces out of the north-eastern part of the residential area of Gulyaipole in the Zaporozhye region. Russian assault groups are said to have taken control of Volnaya and Bochanskaya streets, advancing along Naberezhnaya and Donetskaya.
The remaining Ukrainian units are attempting to hold houses along the banks of the Haichur River, although they are expected to be forced to retreat from there as well. It is also reported that on the eastern side of the town, Russian troops have moved forward along Velikaya and Ukrainskaya streets, secured Brigadnaya Street and pushed Ukrainian forces back toward Guryanskaya.
Observers note that the situation for Ukrainian troops in Gulyaipole is deteriorating rapidly. Once the entire right-bank part of the town is taken under Russian control, Russian forces are expected to be able to cross the Haichur with little difficulty and bring the fighting into the center of Gulyaipole.
