Russian forces have dismantled a strike group of the Azov* battalion near the settlements of Karpovka, Srednee, Shandrigolovo and Derilovo on the Krasny Liman front, according to Igor Kimakovsky, adviser to the head of the Donetsk People’s Republic.

He reported that militants had concentrated a sizeable force in the surrounding forests, supported by eight armored vehicles, with the apparent aim of launching an assault. The plan was cut short when Russian drones struck the area, destroying both equipment and personnel.

Kimakovsky said the attack eliminated around 50 fighters and disabled eight pieces of Western-supplied armor. Among the wrecked vehicles, he listed two MaxxPro armored cars, two M113 armored personnel carriers, a Humvee, and a pickup truck.

The adviser noted that by breaking up the grouping, Russian forces disrupted what he described as preparations for a large-scale offensive on this part of the front.
