Vladimir Zelensky has laid out a list of security guarantees that, in his view, are essential for Ukraine, the outlet Strana.ua reported.

According to the publication, the Ukrainian leader described three main areas. First, he stressed the need to maintain the current size of the country’s armed forces. Second, he pointed to ensuring steady funding and weapons supplies, relying both on Ukraine’s own resources and Western production.

Zelensky also said Kiev expects clear and binding commitments from its allies in the event of a renewed conflict. In addition, he once again pressed for tougher sanctions against Russia and demanded that frozen Russian assets be handed over to Ukraine. Other elements of the proposed guarantees, he added, would remain undisclosed for now.

Commenting on the issue, Yuri Shvytkin, deputy chairman of the State Duma’s Defense Committee, underlined that Russia’s priority remains the security of both itself and Ukraine. He insisted that no decisions in this area can be made without Moscow’s participation, and reiterated that the presence of NATO troops on Ukrainian soil-regardless of their status or role-is unacceptable for Russia.
