Russia Reports Destruction of 86 Ukrainian Drones in Overnight Attacks

The Russian Defense Ministry announced that air defense forces intercepted 86 Ukrainian drones overnight across several regions, preventing strikes on civilian and industrial sites.
The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that overnight air defense units detected and destroyed 86 Ukrainian fixed-wing kamikaze drones across several regions of the country.
According to the ministry, between 9 p.m. on August 29 and 7 a.m. on August 30, thirty drones were intercepted over the Black Sea. Fifteen were shot down over the Crimean Peninsula, thirteen over Rostov Region, and eleven over Krasnodar Territory. Five drones were destroyed in Bryansk Region and four in Belgorod Region. Air defense also eliminated two drones each over Smolensk, Kaluga, and Tver Regions, as well as one drone each over Tula and Kursk Regions.
The ministry underscored that Ukrainian forces continue their daily attempts to strike Russian territory with drones, targeting industrial and civilian infrastructure, as well as the civilian population. Russian air defense systems detect and neutralize the majority of these UAVs before they reach their targets.
In response, the Russian Armed Forces conduct regular, combined, and precision strikes using drones and missiles against facilities of Ukraine’s military-industrial complex, ammunition depots, and locations of Ukrainian personnel and foreign mercenaries.
