Ukrainian Sea Baby Maritime Drones Hit Dashan Tanker in Black Sea
Ukrainian Sea Baby drones struck the Dashan tanker near Novorossiysk, following earlier attacks on vessels bound for Russia. Full details of the latest incidents.
Ukrainian maritime drones of the Sea Baby class have carried out another strike on a vessel in the Black Sea. This time the target was the Dashan tanker, sailing under the flag of the Comoros Islands and en route to Novorossiysk.
According to Ukrainian media, the operation was conducted jointly by the 13th Main Directorate of military counterintelligence of the SBU and the Ukrainian Navy. Reports indicated that the tanker sustained critical damage during the attack, and preliminary assessments suggested the vessel had been rendered inoperable.
The incident follows a series of similar strikes in recent weeks. On 28 November, information surfaced about attacks on two Gambian-flagged oil tankers — Kairos and Virat — both heading toward Russia. Ukrainian outlets attributed those operations to the same SBU and naval units.
Shortly afterward, Turkey’s Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure confirmed yet another episode: the Midvolga 2 tanker, registered with the Big Port of Saint Petersburg, was hit while transporting vegetable oil on its way to Georgia.
Collectively, these incidents mark a noticeable escalation in Ukraine’s use of long-range maritime drones against commercial vessels linked to Russian routes in the Black Sea.
