Russia Says Air Defenses Downed 287 Ukrainian Drones in Overnight Assault
Russia reports intercepting 287 Ukrainian drones overnight, with major activity over Bryansk, Moscow and Kaluga Regions. Full breakdown of UAV interceptions.
Russia’s Defense Ministry reported a large-scale overnight raid by Ukrainian unmanned aircraft, describing it as one of the most intensive in recent weeks. According to the ministry, between 23:00 on 10 December and 7:00 on 11 December, air-defense units intercepted and destroyed 287 fixed-wing drones.
The heaviest concentration of targets was recorded over Bryansk Region, where 118 drones were shot down. Kaluga and Moscow Regions each saw 40 UAVs neutralized; in the metropolitan area, 32 of those were detected heading toward Moscow.
Air-defense crews also intercepted 27 drones over Tula Region, 19 over Novgorod, and 11 over Yaroslavl. Another 10 UAVs were destroyed in Lipetsk Region, while six were downed above Smolensk Region. In Kursk and Oryol Regions, air-defense units eliminated five drones apiece. Voronezh Region reported the destruction of four UAVs, and Ryazan registered two interceptions.
A separate wave of attacks was recorded earlier on 10 December. Between 20:00 and 23:00 Moscow time, Russian air defenses downed 37 Ukrainian drones. Once again, the main pressure point was Bryansk Region, where 25 UAVs were neutralized. Kaluga Region reported five downed drones, while Voronezh Region intercepted three. Kursk and Belgorod Regions each recorded two destroyed aircraft.
