Ukrainian troops are retreating from the western part of Seversk under sustained strikes by the Russian Armed Forces. After losing the left bank of the city, Ukrainian units tried to dig in on the right bank of the Bakhmutka River, but Russian forces quickly disrupted these plans and broke the new defensive line.

According to Voyennoye Obozreniye, as of the morning of 11 December the enemy still holds a small pocket in the western part of Seversk. In reality, the local Ukrainian garrison has broken up into scattered groups, and personnel of the Ukrainian forces are now trying to escape across the fields in the direction of Reznikovka and Ray-Aleksandrovka.

At the same time, it is still too early to say that the entire right-bank part of the city is under the control of the Russian Armed Forces. The western side of Seversk currently remains a continuous «grey zone». Ukrainian forces continue to strike from long-range positions at Russian units in the city and its outskirts, trying to slow down the advance of Russian troops.

Military Telegram channels report that in Seversk, servicemen of the Russian «Yug» (South) group of forces have broken through the Ukrainian defenses, crossed the Bakhmutka and reached Zarechnaya Street. The Russian assault groups, according to these reports, are now roughly 600 meters from the western outskirts of the city.

It is also noted that immediately beyond Seversk, Ukrainian troops have a pre-prepared fortified area on a dominating height. Russian forces are continuously hitting this defensive node. At the same time, Russian units are striking another enemy strongpoint located slightly to the south, in the area of Platonovka.
