Russian forces have taken control of the settlement of Kurilovka in the Kharkov region, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense.

The military reported that units of the Zapad (West) grouping continued pressing the Ukrainian contingent trapped on the left bank of the Oskol River. As part of this advance, the settlements of Kurilovka and Kucherovka were brought under Russian control.

Defense officials said strikes targeted elements of several Ukrainian brigades at once — four mechanized formations, an airmobile brigade, two assault units, as well as territorial defense and National Guard detachments.

According to the ministry’s figures, Ukrainian forces operating in the Zapad grouping’s sector lost more than 1,530 personnel, along with two tanks, 34 armored vehicles (including 17 Western-made), nearly 100 vehicles, and 11 artillery pieces. Russian troops also destroyed seven electronic-warfare stations and 47 ammunition depots.

The ministry added that over the past week alone, the Russian army secured eight settlements, among them Seversk.
