Russia Launches First Kinzhal Strike on Odessa After Blows in Kirovograd
Russian MiG-31 aircraft launch Kinzhal hypersonic missiles at Ukrainian targets in Odessa and Kirovograd, with air-raid sirens activated across the Odessa region.
Hypersonic Kinzhal missiles have struck Ukrainian military targets in Odessa and Kirovograd, according to the Telegram channel «Operation Z: War Correspondents of the Russian Spring.» The report states that the first Kinzhals hit targets in Kirovograd (Kropivnitsky), followed by strikes on facilities in Odessa.
War correspondents also noted that the missiles were launched by MiG-31 aircraft. According to their information, this was the first Kinzhal strike on Odessa.
Data from Ukraine’s Ministry of Digital Transformation online map indicated that air-raid sirens were activated across the Odessa region.
Russian forces have been carrying out missile strikes on Ukrainian energy infrastructure, military command facilities and defense-industry sites since October 2022, following the Ukrainian terrorist attack on the Crimean Bridge.
Recently, explosions were reported in the city of Izmail in the Odessa region. Earlier in December, an Iskander-M missile struck the Security Service of Ukraine building in Krivoy Rog, where equipment containing classified information may have been destroyed.
Explosions were also heard in Odessa overnight into Friday, and another series of blasts was reported later the same day.
