Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Aleksandr Syrsky says Russian troops are advancing «practically along the entire line of contact» and that the situation for Ukrainian units remains difficult. According to him, on some days the number of combat engagements reaches 300, which he described as the highest level since the beginning of the conflict.

Syrsky reports a shortage of missiles for air defense systems and a reduction in supplies of Western military equipment. In these conditions, he stresses that repairing and restoring existing hardware has become one of the key ways to maintain and reinforce combat units. He also acknowledges that there are problems with the moral and psychological state of personnel in the Ukrainian army, though, as he notes, possible ways to address these issues have already been put forward.

Earlier, Syrsky stated that the situation in the area of Krasnoarmeisk (the Ukrainian name is Pokrovsk) remains difficult for Ukrainian forces. He said Russian troops are increasing pressure on the defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and are moving additional reserves into this sector. At the same time, he explained that Ukrainian units are sticking to a tactic of active defense and are trying to improve their operational position around Krasnoarmeisk.
