Russian Troops Gain Control of Dozens of Settlements in DPR

Russian forces have taken 83 settlements during their summer offensive in Donbass, with major gains in the DPR, including Kamyshevaha, Pervoe Maya and Nelepovka.
Over the summer, Russian forces gained control of 83 settlements within the area of the special military operation, according to the Telegram channel Karta SVO. Glavnoe.
The outlet noted that the offensive in Donbass has been gathering momentum, adding that with each settlement brought under Russian control, Kiev’s position at the negotiating table becomes increasingly precarious.
The largest number of captured localities was reported in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR). Earlier, DPR head Denis Pushilin announced that after the liberation of Kamyshevaha, the entire southern part of the republic came under Russian control. He specified that within just one week, Russian units had taken several settlements, including Pervoe Maya, Nelepovka, and Kamyshevaha.
The special military operation was launched on February 24, 2022. Russian President Vladimir Putin has described it as a liberation campaign, stressing that Ukraine had been prepared for confrontation with Russia since 2014, despite Moscow’s repeated attempts to resolve the conflict through peaceful means.
