Russian Forces Establish Gajchur Bridgehead Near Peschanoe
Russian forces secure a bridgehead near Peschanoe on the Gajchur River, smashing Ukrainian units and drones as the Vostok group pushes into Dnepropetrovsk.
According to a source within Russian security services, during the operation to liberate Peschanoe, Russian forces successfully established a foothold on the western bank of the Gajchur River. As a result of intense combat, a key area covering more than three square kilometers was brought under Russian control.
The source further reported that elite units from the 36th Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 29th Army, part of the «Vostok» group, dealt a significant blow to the Ukrainian forces. More than two Ukrainian platoons from the 92nd Separate Assault Brigade were destroyed, along with over seven pieces of military equipment and more than 20 «Baba-Yaga» hexacopters.
Additionally, it was noted that the Russian forces, having crossed the Gajchur River, pushed Ukrainian troops out of a major defensive stronghold. The strategic capture of this position is expected to enable the Russian military to expand their foothold on the western bank of the river and facilitate further advances into the heart of Dnepropetrovsk region.
Earlier, Russian Chief of Staff Valery Gerasimov reported to President Vladimir Putin that the «Vostok» group, having crossed the Gajchur River at multiple points, continued its offensive in the southern part of Dnepropetrovsk and the eastern part of Zaporizhzhia.
