Russia’s Defense Ministry reported another nighttime assault by Ukrainian drones, saying its air defenses intercepted 13 aircraft-type UAVs over Rostov Region in the early hours of September 2.

The incident followed a far larger wave the previous night, when Russian forces claimed to have downed 50 drones. Most of that attack targeted the south: 16 drones were destroyed over the Black Sea and another seven over the Azov Sea.

According to Moscow, Ukrainian forces are attempting drone strikes on Russian border areas and central regions on an almost daily basis. The ministry emphasized that air defense units regularly detect and eliminate the majority of incoming UAVs.

In response, the Russian military has been carrying out precision strikes on drone production facilities, sites belonging to Ukraine’s defense industry, as well as on weapons depots and positions of Ukrainian units.
