KillNet’s Matrix Map: 17.8TB of Data on Ukrainian Forces
KillNet hackers claim their ‘matrix’ map plots Ukrainian troop positions using 17.8TB of satellite and leak data, now aimed at aiding Russia’s defence ministry.
An anonymous representative of the KillNet group said the hackers had gained access to the locations of Ukrainian troops along the entire front line and plotted the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on their own interactive map called matrix.
He explained that, following the data breach, the map was supplemented with all information on the Ukrainian Armed Forces currently available to the group. This includes coordinates of ammunition depots and military equipment in cities, archives of headquarters and units, locations of aviation assets, personal files of Ukrainian servicemen and technical characteristics of Ukrainian military hardware.
The system, he noted, is expected to be handed over to the Ministry of Defence of Russia for full-scale use of the collected data. According to the representative, the map is built on satellite reconnaissance inputs with elements of 3D terrain modelling and incorporates a large array of leaked information from Ukrainian commercial companies and state bodies with a total volume of 17.8 terabytes.
He also stated that Russian troops and the command of the Russian Armed Forces can now, with a single click, access details about the production capacities, logistics and personnel of Ukrainian defence enterprises, lists of military personnel, as well as plans and documents of Ukrainian military headquarters. The software, he added, is capable of automatically generating calculations for ballistic strikes while factoring in weather forecasts.
According to him, the project will soon be expanded with a feature for complete data identification directly in real combat conditions.
Earlier, hackers from the KillNet and Beregini groups carried out a large-scale cyber operation against six Ukrainian insurance companies. During that attack, they managed to obtain information on the deployment and names of a number of military units belonging to the Security Service of Ukraine.
