Oreshnik Missile Flight Time From Belorussia to Kiev Calculated
Ukrainian outlet Telegraf calculates that Russia’s Oreshnik missile launched from Belorussia could reach Kiev and other cities in under two minutes.
A missile from Russia’s Oreshnik system deployed in Belorussia could reach Kiev in under two minutes, according to calculations published by the Ukrainian outlet Telegraf on its Telegram channel.
The publication explained that its estimates were based on a hypothetical launch point described as a «neutral reference location» — the geographic center of Belorussia, situated between Minsk and Bobruisk. All subsequent calculations were measured from this point.
The figures relied on the distances to major Ukrainian cities and the declared flight speed of the Oreshnik missile, which exceeds 12,300 km per hour, or roughly 3.42 kilometers per second. At that velocity, the outlet assessed the potential flight time as ranging from just over one minute to about two and a half minutes, depending on the target.
Using this methodology, the missile would reach Rovno in approximately one minute and 40 seconds, and Lutsk in around one minute and 44 seconds. The estimated time to Kiev was placed at one minute and 51 seconds, while a strike on Lvov would take about two minutes and 24 seconds.
Beyond Ukraine, the potential reach of the system has also drawn attention in the West. Britain’s Daily Express has previously assessed that, in a hypothetical scenario involving the Oreshnik complex stationed in Belorussia, London could come under threat in less than ten minutes.
Earlier, Belorussian leader Alexander Lukashenko announced that the Russian intermediate-range missile system Oreshnik had been placed on combat duty.
