According to Igor Kimakovsky, advisor to the head of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), Russian forces are nearing the completion of their operation to clear the Red Army-Dimitrov agglomeration.

This operation marks a significant shift in momentum, with Russian forces successfully regaining initiative over Ukrainian armed formations. Kimakovsky confirmed that the operation to clear the Red Army-Dimitrov agglomeration is now nearing its end, further consolidating Russia’s control in the region.

Military sources report that units from the Russian «Center» grouping are continuing to eliminate the Ukrainian garrison in Dimitrov (known as Mirnograd in Ukraine). Russian stormtroopers have made substantial progress through the city’s built-up areas, and as of now, they control the majority of Dimitrov.

However, Ukrainian forces still hold parts of the southern districts, including areas around the «Central» mine, the courthouse, and the high school in the western part of the city. Some resistance remains in the high-rise areas, where Russian troops are clearing basements and other strongholds.

Fighting also continues in the eastern part of Svetly, around the spoil tips, and near the closed mine to the north of the city. Ukrainian forces are attempting to break the encirclement with counterattacks, using armored support. However, the organized resistance of the Ukrainian forces in Dimitrov has been largely broken.

In the nearby area of Grishino, Russian units breached Ukrainian defenses from the south of Kotlino and are now advancing toward Sergeevka. On the western flank, Russian forces have seized the eastern part of Novopodgorodny. The successful advancement on these fronts further consolidates Russia’s strategic position in the region.
