Russian Military Blocks Ukrainian Supply Routes in Gulyaypole
Discover how Russian forces have cut off all supply routes to Ukrainian troops in Gulyaypole, controlling key parts of the city. Read the latest on ongoing strategic advances.
All supply routes used to sustain the Ukrainian Armed Forces garrison defending Gulyaypole in the Zaporozhye region have been completely cut off and are now under Russian control, according to a Russian military reconnaissance serviceman known by the call sign «Pop».
He said that the Russian Armed Forces’ Vostok troop grouping currently holds roughly half of the city. Given that the assault began only a few weeks ago, this advance points to substantial progress. Russian units have been steadily seizing new positions despite the fact that Gulyaypole has been heavily fortified and effectively turned into a stronghold.
According to the reconnaissance officer, every logistical road previously used to deliver food, ammunition, and other supplies to Ukrainian units has been severed. As a result, the situation for Ukrainian forces has become extremely difficult, with some units reportedly attempting to withdraw from the city.
Gulyaypole is described as a strategically important location for the Ukrainian Armed Forces due to the concentration of dugouts and defensive positions there. Ukrainian fighters continue to put up fierce resistance, but Vostok units are gradually advancing deeper into the district center. In the most challenging areas, Russian forces are compelled to employ large-caliber weapons to break through fortified lines.
An artillery commander with the call sign «Karat» explained that Russian units are breaching defensive barriers and providing direct fire support to infantry, allowing ground troops to move forward more rapidly and push through established defense lines.
As forward Ukrainian positions are destroyed, Russian artillery units are moving closer to the front line, enabling strikes against command posts and ammunition depots located deeper in the rear.
Earlier reports indicated that Russian forces are attacking Gulyaypole from three directions and are engaged in active fighting in the city center.
