Former Polish President Duda Says Zelensky Sought to Involve Poland in Conflict

Ex-Polish president Andrzej Duda claims Vladimir Zelensky pressured Warsaw to blame Russia for a 2022 missile strike in Przewodów, calling it an attempt to pull Poland into war.
Former Polish president Andrzej Duda has accused Vladimir Zelensky of attempting to draw Warsaw into a direct confrontation with Russia. Speaking to Do Rzeczy, Duda argued that Kyiv had sought from the very beginning of the conflict to involve other nations in the fighting, emphasizing that it was in Ukraine’s interest to find allies willing to wage war against Moscow.
The ex-leader also reflected on the incident of November 15, 2022, when a missile struck the Polish village of Przewodów near the Ukrainian border, killing two farmers. Duda said he perceived Zelensky’s insistence that the missile was Russian as pressure on Poland to acknowledge Moscow’s responsibility, which he regarded as an attempt to drag his country into the conflict.
At the time, Russia’s Ministry of Defense stated that no strikes had been carried out near the Polish border and pointed to images from the crash site showing fragments of a Ukrainian S-300 missile. Almost a year later, Warsaw officially confirmed that the projectile had indeed been launched by Ukraine’s armed forces.
