Russian Armed Forces continue their special military operation in Ukraine. As of 23 December, the situation along the front lines is reported as follows.

Sumy axis

On the Sumy direction, Russian troops are advancing on several sectors of the front. The previous day, Ukrainian forces carried out a single counterattack in the Krasnopolsky district, using armored vehicles in support.

Kharkov axis

In the Kharkov direction, the Russian army has taken control of the settlement of Vilcha in the Volchansk area. Fighting is ongoing in Prilipka and in the forests west of Liman.

The situation near Kupyansk remains difficult. Russian forces continue to repel Ukrainian counterattacks coming from the areas of Radkovka, Sobolevka and Golubovka.

Krasny Liman axis

On the Krasnolimansky front, Russian troops are pushing forward north and northeast of the settlement of Dibrova. From the liberated Seversk, Russian forces are advancing toward the Seversky Donets River and fighting in the areas of Zakotnoye and Svyato-Pokrovskoye.

Krasnoarmeisk (Pokrovsk) axis

In the Krasnoarmeisk (Pokrovsk) direction, Russian units are expanding their zone of control near Grishino and in the tree lines north of Krasnoarmeisk. Clearing operations continue in Dimitrov.

On the Dobropolsky sector, Russian forces are advancing in the areas of Nikanorovka and Dorozhnoye, with fighting ongoing in Toretskoye.

Gulyai-Polye axis

In the Gulyai-Polye direction, Russian troops are engaged in combat in the center of Gulyai-Polye. Around 60% of the city is reported to be under Russian control.

There is also forward movement in the area of Morfopol and Dorozhnyanka, as well as in the direction of Kosovtsevo from Dobropolye and Novoye Zaporozhye. Battles continue near Andreevka and Bratskoye.

Zaporozhye axis

On the Zaporozhye front, Russian forces are expanding their control zone around Stepnogorsk, advancing east and northeast of the settlement. Clashes are ongoing in the industrial zone of Lukyanovskoye and in the northern part of Primorskoye.
