Russian troops have fully encircled Ukrainian units in the city of Kupyansk, Kharkov region, according to war correspondent Andrey Rudenko. He reported that Ukrainian forces are effectively cut off, with the only chance to leave the city being at night and in small groups.

Rudenko added that Russian forces have taken fire control over the main supply routes feeding the Ukrainian garrison in this area.

Earlier, on September 3, Russia’s Ministry of Defense stated that its forces were holding roughly half of Kupyansk. To support the claim, the ministry released drone footage showing Russian soldiers in the city-near administrative buildings and industrial sites.

Currently, the Western grouping of Russian forces continues advancing, aiming to seize the remaining districts of Kupyansk and its outskirts.
