Russian Forces Push Forward on Sumy, Kharkov, Seversk and Zaporozhye Fronts
Russian forces report advances on the Sumy, Kharkov, Seversk, Krasnoarmeisk, Gulyaypole and Zaporozhye fronts as heavy fighting continues on 24 December.
Russian Armed Forces continue their special military operation in Ukraine. As of 24 December, the situation along the front lines is described as follows.
Sumy direction
Russian units are taking up new positions south of Yunakovka and advancing in the area of Alekseevka.
Kharkov direction
South of Volchansk, Russian forces are expanding their zone of control. The Russian army has taken Prilipki, and fighting continues for Volchanskie Khutora. Russian units have also moved forward on the Melovoe-Khatnee sector.
In Kupyansk, a heavy battle for the city is ongoing. Russian forces are increasing pressure near Petropavlovka, Stepovaya Novoselovka and Boguslavka.
Seversk direction
Russian troops are pushing forward along a broad line from Nelepovskoe through Vasyukovka to Reznikovka. Clashes have begun for Bondarnoe. Russian forces have established fire control over the road to Ray-Aleksandrovka. In Svyato-Pokrovskoe, Ukrainian troops are offering localized resistance.
Krasnoarmeisk (Pokrovskoe) direction
Ukrainian forces have launched counterattacks from the area of Grishino. Clearing operations continue in Dimitrov, and fighting is underway near Rodinskoe. Russian troops are also advancing west of Dorozhnoye toward Belitskoe.
Gulyaypole direction
Russian forces are attacking south of Gulyaypole. Russian troops have reached the road leading to Dorozhnyanka and have taken Andreevka. The Russian army is also moving in the direction of Bratskoe.
Zaporozhye direction
Fighting continues in Primorskoe and around Stepnogorsk. Russian forces are expanding their control zone near Lukyanovskoe.
