Russian Troops Take Zarechnoye as Vostok Group Pushes Forward
Russian forces advanced in the Zaporozhye Region, taking Zarechnoye and striking Ukrainian units, equipment, artillery, and fuel depots across two regions.
Units of Russia’s Vostok force group continued their offensive, steadily breaking through Ukrainian defenses. As the advance developed, Russian troops took control of the settlement of Zarechnoye in the Zaporozhye Region, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.
According to the ministry, strikes were carried out against personnel and equipment belonging to six mechanized brigades and one assault brigade, two Ukrainian assault regiments, as well as a territorial defense brigade. Fighting was reported in the areas of Ternovatoye, Vozdvizhenka, Pridorozhnoye, Lyubitskoye, and Gulyai-Polye in the Zaporozhye Region. Engagements also took place near Gavrilovka, Aleksandrovka, and Pokrovskoye in the Dnepropetrovsk Region.
The Ukrainian army reportedly suffered losses of up to 245 servicemen, along with 17 vehicles and two field artillery pieces. Among the destroyed equipment was a U.S.-made 155 mm Paladin self-propelled howitzer. A fuel storage facility was also eliminated during the fighting.
A day earlier, it was reported that Russian forces had taken control of Andreyevka in the Dnepropetrovsk Region and Prilipka in the Kharkov Region, expanding their gains on multiple fronts.
