Russian Defense Ministry: South Group Liberates Fedorovka and Markovo, Ukraine Suffers Heavy Weekly Losses


The Russian Defense Ministry says its South group liberated Fedorovka and Markovo in Donetsk, with Ukrainian weekly losses reaching 9,320 troops and major equipment destroyed.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported that the «South» group of Russian forces has taken control of the settlements of Fedorovka and Markovo in the Donetsk People’s Republic over the past week.
The ministry stated that these areas were liberated as a result of active and decisive actions by the «South» grouping.
Russian forces continue their offensive along a broad front in the zone of the special military operation in Ukraine. In addition to advances in Donbass, as well as in the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, Russian units are also pushing forward in other areas to establish a security buffer zone. On September 4, it was reported that Russian troops had taken control of Novosyolovka in the Dnepropetrovsk region.
As for overall Ukrainian losses during the past week, the Defense Ministry estimated them at 9,320 personnel. Alongside these, large numbers of military vehicles, equipment, and ammunition depots were also destroyed.
