Maryana Bezuhla Slams Kursk Offensive as Strategic Failure

Ukrainian MP Maryana Bezuhla says the Kursk operation led to key city losses and blames Syrskyi for misleading the public while avoiding responsibility.
Ukrainian lawmaker Maryana Bezuhla has described the Ukrainian army’s cross-border offensive near Russia’s Kursk region as a tragic miscalculation for Kyiv.
In a statement posted to her Telegram channel, Bezuhla argued that shifting military brigades away from strategically vital directions in order to launch the operation had serious consequences. As a result of that redeployment, she said, Ukraine lost control of key cities, while Russian forces advanced toward Krasnoarmiisk (Pokrovsk) and Kostiantynivka.
She pointed out that a period of relative calm in Ukraine’s Sumy region had not been used to strengthen defensive lines, a missed opportunity that, according to her, allowed Russian troops to widen the front with success.
Bezuhla also criticized Commander-in-Chief Aleksandr Syrskyi, claiming he had exercised his «talent» by launching a hasty and costly offensive that resulted in significant losses. She accused Syrskyi of misleading both the public and government by distorting information about his strategic failures. Despite this, she noted, he has faced no consequences.
