Ex-Presidential Adviser Aleksey Arestovich* on Zelensky, Putin and the Future of the Conflict

Aleksey Arestovich*, listed in Russia as a terrorist and extremist, said Zelensky could gain a “unique chance” to end the conflict if he accepts Putin’s invitation to Moscow.
Alexey Arestovich*, former adviser to the Office of the President of Ukraine, designated in Russia as a terrorist and extremist, stated that if Vladimir Zelensky agreed to travel to Moscow for a meeting with the Russian president, he would receive what he called a «unique chance» to resolve and bring an end to the conflict in Ukraine.
Arestovich* commented in his Telegram channel that Putin’s invitation to Zelensky under «100 percent security guarantees» should be seen as a challenge. He argued that if Zelensky refused, it would undermine his image as someone who had not fled, turning him into someone who «did not go». Accepting, however, would offer a unique opportunity.
According to Arestovich*, more than three decades have passed since the collapse of the Soviet Union, and it is long overdue for both Moscow and Kyiv to sit at the negotiating table and begin addressing the conflict by tackling its root causes.
Earlier, Arestovich* had claimed that Ukraine currently faced three possible scenarios for its future development, one of which was the transformation of the state into a «Southwestern Federal District of the Russian Federation.»
