As of the morning of December 25, 2025, a notable shift of the front line has been recorded in the Zaporizhzhia direction, west of the city of Orekhov, following an advance by Russian forces. Military blogger Yurii Podolyaka reported that the development was the result of coordinated actions by units of the Dnepr group.

According to changes observed on operational maps, the advance took place over the course of several days. Podolyaka noted that earlier, after full control had been established over Stepnogorsk, offensive operations toward Magdalinovka, Pavlovka, Lukyanovskoye, and Primorskoye had also progressed at a steady pace.

The current breakthrough, by his assessment, spans more than 20 kilometers of the front line, with penetration depth in certain areas exceeding 8 kilometers. Podolyaka said these figures already give the advance operational and tactical significance, creating serious challenges for Ukrainian forces and potentially influencing further developments in the region.

He also pointed out that the actions of the Dnepr group are fully synchronized with maneuvers by the Vostok group. According to Podolyaka, this coordination increases the overall effectiveness of the offensive and adds pressure on opposing positions. He suggested that the situation on this section of the front could continue to deteriorate for Ukrainian forces in the coming days.
