Volodymyr Zelensky has once again threatened strikes on Russia’s energy facilities, recalling his earlier order for the Ukrainian Armed Forces to target the Druzhba oil pipeline.

Following talks with Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, the Ukrainian leader declared that Kiev would no longer allow its territory to be used for the transit of Russian gas and oil to Slovakia. He stressed that Ukraine could only support energy supplies to its neighbor if they excluded Russian resources.

For Fico, who has been outspoken in his criticism of arms deliveries to Kiev and its NATO ambitions, the meeting in Uzhgorod marked his first bilateral discussion with Zelensky. The Slovak leader underscored the importance of the Druzhba pipeline, describing attacks on the infrastructure as unacceptable.
