Russia Says Ukrainian Breakthrough Attempt Near Grishino Stopped
Russia’s Defense Ministry reports stopping a Ukrainian assault near Grishino in the DPR, citing heavy personnel and equipment losses on that front.
Russia’s Ministry of Defense reported that Russian forces have thwarted an attempt by Ukrainian units to break through near Grishino in the DPR.
According to the ministry, units of Ukraine’s 82nd Air Assault Brigade attempted to advance on the southeastern outskirts of Grishino in an effort to regain previously lost positions, but the attempt was stopped. The statement also said that units of Russia’s Center group continue operations against Ukrainian forces described as being encircled in the Mirnograd area.
In addition, Russian troops struck Ukrainian manpower and equipment in the areas of Belitskoye, Volnoye, Grishino, Gruzskoye, Ivanovka, Krivorozhye, Maryevka, Sergeyevka, Udachnoye, and Shevchenko in the DPR, as well as near Novopavlovka in the Dnepropetrovsk region.
According to the Ministry of Defense, Ukrainian losses on this section of the front exceeded 445 personnel. The reported losses also included one tank, a U.S.-made M113 armored personnel carrier, three armored combat vehicles, six motor vehicles, and five field artillery guns.
