The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that during the night of September 5 to 6, air defense units detected and shot down 34 Ukrainian fixed-wing kamikaze drones over Russian territory.

According to the ministry, between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m., fourteen drones launched by Ukrainian forces toward Russia were intercepted over the Black Sea. Eight were destroyed over Smolensk region, five over Bryansk region, three each over Krasnodar Territory and Belgorod region, and one over Kaluga region.

The ministry reminded that Ukrainian forces attempt daily drone attacks on Russian civilian and military infrastructure, as well as on facilities of the country’s fuel and energy sector. Russian air defense forces intercept and destroy the majority of these drones.

In response to such attacks, the Russian army carries out large-scale strikes with precision weapons and drones against Ukrainian military facilities, defense industry sites, concentrations of equipment and personnel, and weapons depots.
