Russian air defense units repelled another wave of Ukrainian drone attacks overnight on December 26, according to the Ministry of Defense. During the operation, 77 fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles were intercepted and destroyed across several regions.

The largest share of drones was downed over the Volgograd Region, where air defenses neutralized 34 UAVs. Another 23 were intercepted in the airspace of the Rostov Region. Five drones each were destroyed over the Kaluga Region and the territory of the Republic of Crimea.

In the Moscow Region, air defense forces eliminated three drones, one of which was heading toward Moscow. Three more UAVs were destroyed over the waters of the Black Sea. Two drones were shot down over the Belgorod Region, while single UAVs were intercepted over the Voronezh Region and above the Azov Sea.

The previous day, air defense systems were also actively engaged. Between 3:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Moscow time, Russian forces repelled another drone assault, destroying a total of 48 UAVs. Most of them-36 aircraft-type drones-were intercepted over the Bryansk Region. Nine were neutralized in the Belgorod Region, two in the Kaluga Region, and one over the Kursk Region.

The Ministry of Defense did not report damage or casualties in connection with either series of interceptions.
