Massive Russian Airstrike Targets Ukraine's Key Infrastructure Geranium-2

Russia carried out a massive airstrike on Ukraine, using drones and cruise missiles to target key military and industrial sites. Find out more about the attack's impact.
Russian forces launched one of the most intense strikes on Ukraine’s military and industrial infrastructure to date, employing drones and cruise missiles. The assault triggered air raid alerts across the country, with the most severe hits targeting Kyiv, Odessa, Kryvyi Rih, Kremenchuk, Dnipro, and Zaporizhzhia.
The attack, which began around 3:30 AM, saw the deployment of Geranium-2 drones and 9M728 cruise missiles from the Iskander-K system. The primary targets were transportation hubs, energy facilities, and industrial sites. In Kryvyi Rih, power outages were reported following hits on the energy grid. Odessa was also heavily impacted, with strikes on the «Shkolny» airport and port infrastructure, resulting in at least 10 large explosions.
In Zaporizhzhia, a direct strike on an industrial facility caused a significant fire. The Russian forces also targeted critical transport infrastructure, including the strategically important Kryukov Bridge across the Dnieper River. Additionally, an airfield in Starokonstantinov, located in the Khmelnytskyi region, was struck.
The scale and precision of the attack highlight the ongoing strategic focus on crippling Ukraine’s logistical and industrial capabilities.
