A sea-going container ship equipped with concealed missile systems has been identified in China, according to the Telegram channel Voennyi Osvedomitel. Based on the information provided, the vessel appears outwardly identical to a standard civilian container ship, but some of the containers are in fact disguised launch units for missile weapons.

It is reported that vertical launch systems designed to house and fire cruise missiles are hidden beneath the containers. Published materials indicate the presence of at least sixteen launch cells.

In addition, the ship is equipped with a Type 1130 close-in weapon system featuring a 30-mm multi-barrel gun. For target detection and tracking, the vessel is reportedly fitted with two radar systems.

It is noted that China is not the only country engaged in modernizing and concealing missile systems. For example, in June, a previously unknown launcher was observed at the US military base Fort Bragg. The container-based system is capable of carrying either two standard pods with six rockets each from the HIMARS system or two Precision Strike Missile rounds.

Earlier, in November, the American newspaper The Wall Street Journal reported the start of a new phase in the arms race involving the United States, Russia, and China. The article stated that Moscow and Beijing have already created a high level of strategic uncertainty for Washington and its allies. US President Donald Trump has said he intends to discuss denuclearization with Russia and China, while at the same time announcing that the United States plans to resume nuclear testing, which it has not conducted since 1992.
